2021 Annual Buttercup Hike

In 2020, we held few in-person events due to COVID-19. This year, the Annual Buttercup Hike returns on Saturday, April 10! This year’s Buttercup Hike will be self-guided with stops along the way to meet the COVID safety restrictions. Masks are required to be worn whenever physical distancing is not practiced.

The Buttercup Hike is an annual tradition since 1967. Come out the Buttercup Hike to learn about the history and importance of the lands in the Dishman Hills that we are all working so hard to protect.

The hike will be about 2 miles roundtrip, with about 250 feet of elevation gain. Sign up for a start time on the registration page at DishmanHills.org/Events-List. We are offering start times at 11:00am, 11:30am, 12:00 noon, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, and 2:00pm. We will provide a route map and you will proceed at your own pace. We will set up stations with nature and historical information.

Hikers will meet at Camp Caro (625 S. Sargent Rd., Spokane, WA 99212). Free parking is available in the large lower parking lot directly to the right as you turn onto Sargent Road from Appleway. We will meet in that parking lot as a group to begin the hike.

This event is FREE, but please register in advance to help us get an accurate head count and reduce congestion. Sturdy shoes are recommended, please bring water and a snack. Dress for the weather. Dogs are allowed on leash.
