Self-Guided Hike: Deep Ravine

The Dishman Hills Conservancy presents a self-guided hike through the Deep Ravine – a 1.5 mile loop through the Dishman Hills Natural Resources Conservation Area in Spokane Valley. Perfect for everyone from beginners & children to experienced hikers, this beautiful trail highlights a unique area of the Dishman Hills that we are proud to call home.

Informational brochures with the trail map are located at the trailhead kiosk at 625 S Sargent Rd, Spokane Valley, 99212. Grab a brochure & follow the signs to fully experience this hike.

Distance: ~1.5 mile loop

Elevation Gain: ~200 ft

Trailhead: Camp Caro (625 S Sargent Rd. Spokane Valley WA 99212)

Status: Open All Seasons (upper parking lot & lodge bathrooms closed during winter)

From Spokane: from I-90E, take exit 285 onto Appleway. About two miles down, turn right onto S Sargent Rd.

From Spokane Valley: from I-90W, take exit 287 and turn left onto Argonne Rd. Turn right onto Sprague then shortly after take a left onto Sargent Rd. 

The larger lower parking lot is directly to the right as you pull onto Sargent Rd. Follow the path through a small section of trees up to Camp Caro.

Once at Camp Caro Lodge, walk through the log cabin breezeway. Grab a brochure from the large trail sign and take the first obvious left after the sign to begin the Deep Ravine loop. The trail is marked as the purple trail on the map on the back of the brochure.
